What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and even more excited for what’s ahead.
Islamic education in America has traditionally meant parents choose an Islamic environment and compromise on everything else. Whether it’s academic performance, sports or extracurricular programs, students were at a disadvantage compared to competing, non-Islamic schools. Ajyal Academy was born out of a realization that this compromise is not necessary. The introduction of Islamic curriculums should not, in any way, compromise general academic performance and a well-rounded development of students.
In 2024, our small team began working on what a “new” Islamic school would look like. Ajyal Academy is the no-compromise result of that 1.5year effort. Beginning the 2025-26 academic school year, Ajyal Academy opened its doors to PreK - Grade 1. Families embraced Ajyal’s no-compromise mission and committed to creating a new community that valued excellence, professionalism and transparency. Moving into the 2026-27 school year, Ajyal has grown to PreK - Grade 5 and is doubling down on the investment in our students and our school.
The story of Ajyal Academy is rooted in the passion and desire to educate future leaders of an evolving world. Driven by a no-compromise approach to education, behavioral development and Islamic understanding, Ajyal aims to define what Islamic schools look like in today’s world.

I’m humbled and so encouraged with the family we’ve created at Ajyal. Seeing our students perform incredibly in both, standardized academic measures as well as their understanding and growth in our deen is so rewarding.
Mohammad Bataineh, Founder
Our philosophy on teachers and staff.
At Ajyal, we have a simple philosophy when it comes to building the Ajyal team…hire the best and most passionate people, and expect the best and most motivated results. To that end, our founding team of teachers and administrators represented the best people we can find for the mission at hand. Each displaying the passion needed, not only to educate future leaders, but to start something from scratch.
A family of doers, not talkers.
Without our wonderful parents, Ajyal Academy would not be possible. The Ajyal family is a family that represents action, taking leadership on initiatives that move our ummah, and a passion for progress. In our inaugural year, Ajyal was blessed with parents that understood the importance of our mission and the necessity of their contribution to realize the results we wanted.
Our engaged Parent Teacher Association (PTA) led the charge in organizing community initiatives like our Science Fair and other events.
When excellence matters most,
you end up with amazing results.
We started Ajyal Academy with our own children in mind. All our teachers also enroll their children as students at Ajyal, illustrating our commitment to the school and its results. A foundation of our school culture is the pursuit of excellence without compromise. We’re committed to every child succeeding and becoming the most they can be.

An Islamic way of life.
Not just as an elective.
Too often, Islamic schools treat their faith based curriculum as an afterthought. We believe an immersive approach where Islamic principles and teachings are woven throughout everything we do. The best math education is supplemented with references to our deen. This approach to Islamic education empowers students to see our deen in everything they do. Empowerment equals confidence.
